Trident Shield — Sender Screening

Control who can reach your inbox. Approve trusted senders, block unwanted ones, and screen unknowns.

What Is Trident Shield?

Trident Shield is your inbox gatekeeper. It maintains an allowlist of approved senders and a denylist of blocked senders. Emails from unknown senders can be held for review instead of cluttering your inbox.

The Three Lists

Allowlist (Approved): Senders whose emails always reach your inbox. Add clients, colleagues, and trusted contacts here.

Denylist (Blocked): Senders whose emails are automatically filtered out. Add spammers, persistent marketers, and unwanted contacts here.

Pending (Unknown): New senders who aren't on either list. Their emails are held for your review — you decide whether to approve or block.

How to Use Shield

  • Navigate to Trident Shield from the sidebar
  • View your current allowlist, denylist, and pending senders
  • For pending senders: review their email and click Approve or Block
  • To manually add senders: enter an email address and assign to allow or deny
  • Use bulk actions to approve or block multiple senders at once
  • Automatic Screening

When enabled, Shield automatically holds emails from unknown senders. This is especially useful for:

    • Executives who receive cold outreach
    • Public-facing email addresses
    • Accounts that have been scraped by spammers

    Security Benefits

Shield provides an extra layer of protection against:

    • Phishing attempts from unknown senders
    • Social engineering attacks
    • Spam that bypasses traditional filters
    • Unwanted cold outreach

    Best Practices

    • Start by adding your most important contacts to the allowlist
    • Review the pending queue daily (takes 2-3 minutes)
    • Block aggressively — you can always unblock later
    • Use domain-level blocking for persistent spam sources (e.g., block @spammer.com)
